Safe Learning Spaces

Under the Regulatory Reform; Fire Safety Order (FSO) 2005, education settings have a responsibility to ensure than everyone in the building is kept safe. This includes, students, staff and visitors. An important part of this responsibility is ensuring the compliance of fire doors. This is achieved through regular inspection and maintenance performed by a competent person and, where necessary, 3rd party certificated installation of new fire doors.

The Responsible Person has a duty under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 to ensure that the fire doors within the school remain compliant.
